The Virgin of Hope of Macarena, the most famous of Seville’s processional images of Mary for Holy Week.
The procession of the Virgin of Macarena will begin shortly after midnight on Good Friday, when her float is carried out her basilica by penitents. It lasts for 12 hours and takes the Virgin through many of the old city’s streets, where she is greeted by thousands of people.
